Play Therapy

Parenting can be a challenge and it's pretty difficult to be a kid too. Stressors are increasing and family time is being replaced with extracurricular activities and hugs are being replaced by power struggles. Children often feel misunderstood and present challenging behaviors because something deeper is going on. They may not have the tools to communicate, so acting out behaviors or shutting down may be presented.

Did you ever hear of the saying, "Laughter is the best medicine?" Well, I'll let you in on a little secret....IT IS!!! It is impossible to be stressed, angry or anxious while at play. Laughter and play heals the soul, opens the imagination and helps children feel safe, problem solve and learn. Relationships are essential to establishing healthy attachments and feeling connected to others. I am a certified trainer in The Nurtured  Heart  Approach® which is a relationship-based approach to parenting and building kids inner wealth. Through parent coaching, play therapy, sandtray therapy, cognitive behavioral interventions, and mindfulness, positive relationships are formed and stressors are decreased.
